Project: Who’s your Hero?

Few would argue with the notion that reading to one’s children is vitally important to their academic development. In some families, where English is a second language, reading to one’s children poses difficulties, particularly, if the parent cannot read English. It is the desire of Project: We Care to initiate a community reading program conducted by our “heroes” the veterans. Providing the children with a tremendous role model is an added bonus. The interaction with the children will also greatly enhance the veteran’s own healing process - a true symbiotic relationship. We look forward to sharing our progress in the coming months.
